Having Chrismas Celebration in Lake Bratan, Bali

Lake Bratan, Bali is a lake formed on the crater of a volcano in Bali. The scenic sight around Lake Bratan, Bali is so spell bounding that tourists always make it a point to visit the lake while visiting Bali. Danau Bratan is a gorgeous lake situated in the highlands of central Bali. It lies on the road between Denpasar, 65 kilometers away and Singaraja which is 20 kilometers away. The lake fills an extinguished crater of an ancient volcano. Located at an altitude of over 1,200 meters above sea level, the surrounding of the lake is much cooler than the beach resorts or other places on the island. The sky is mostly clouded and the rays are gentle.
This site is very good to be a celebration place for Christmas. Let's have a look at this site.
There is a beautiful 17th Century temple right at the lakeside. This is devoted to Dewi Danu, the goddess of the lake. She is worshipped for her fertility by the local population. It is believed that the goddess also provides irrigation to the rice fields. There are a few animals kept at the temple site like a lizard and a toucan that are worshipped along with the goddess. As the animals are tame one can take a picture next to them.

The temple is surrounded by a big garden with flowers. Built directly at the waterfront it seems to float in the water. It is a very remarkable sight.

The lake provides a cool retreat from the hot and humid regions of Bali. The shores of the lake provide the traveler with hotels and restaurants and its cool waters offer water sporting facilities like parasailing, water-skiing, banana-boat rides and other water sports.

There are a few Japanese caves across the lake. These caves were dug during the Second World War. Tourists who hike the area visit the beautiful shrines that dot the lakeshore and forested hills around the lake or visit the beautiful Pura Ulun Danu Bratan.
